Start With the Scope
A bathroom remodel can range from a focused update to a complete renovation. The biggest pricing differences often come from layout changes, plumbing work, fixtures, tile, cabinetry, electrical work, and labor.
The Main Cost Factors
Room size matters, but it is not the only factor. Moving plumbing, replacing damaged subfloors, upgrading ventilation, changing electrical circuits, or selecting premium finishes can materially change an estimate.
How to Compare Estimates
Ask each provider to describe demolition, materials, labor, permits, disposal, cleanup, fixtures, and allowances. A detailed scope makes it easier to compare proposals that may look very different at first glance.
Questions Worth Asking
Ask who will manage permits, how change orders are priced, what warranty applies to labor and products, how long the project is expected to take, and how the home will be protected during construction.
